The Back Story

Since she was a teenager, songwriter, composer, and lyricist Rory Michelle Sullivan has created art that helps people access healthier ways of relating. Her high school music theory project became one of the songs for the musical, beginning Rory Michelle’s career in writing fun, authentic, sincere, and alive music that speaks to the heart. With the addition of Moira Lo Bianco’s brilliant harmonies and arrangements, Jonathan Shanes' inspired composing, plus Anna Jastrzembski’s keen eye for playwriting, the musical Rising in Love has grown up from a collection of Rory Michelle’s songs to a project with a life of its own.

Be a Part of It

This is a critical juncture in the lifecycle of Rising in Love. Where we are now - the development phase - is where the work is created, workshopped, revised, and reworked until it is ready for a full production. Your support today will enable us to take the next major steps – completing revisions to the script and score and getting the show ready for its first fully staged production.
